What Happens When Gas Builds Up Inside a Sealed Container?
Not every product can be sealed completely shut. Pesticides, liquid fertilizers, cleaning chemicals, and certain food products can release gas during storage or transport. If the container is sealed too tightly, pressure builds up. The bottle swells. Caps bulge. In worse cases, seals rupture or liquid leaks out .

Pressure Build-Up
Gas generation, temperature changes, and transportation conditions can increase internal pressure inside a sealed container.

Bottle Swelling or Deformation
Excessive internal pressure may cause bottles to swell, bulge, collapse, or deform during storage and transportation.

Leakage Risk
Pressure build-up increases stress on the container and seal, raising the risk of leakage.
The Solution: Vented Induction Seal Liners
A vented induction liner provides controlled gas release while maintaining a reliable liquid-tight seal,
helping equalize internal pressure and protect the package during storage and transportation.

| Standard Induction Seal | Vented Induction Seal | |
|---|---|---|
| Gas Release | Fully sealed | Controlled gas release |
| Pressure Control | Pressure remains contained | Helps equalize pressure |
| Swelling Prevention | Not designed for pressure release | Helps reduce swelling |
| Liquid Sealing | Reliable sealing | Sealing + breathable protection |
| Ideal Applications | General sealing applications | Gas-generating / pressure-sensitive products |
❗ Both solutions provide sealing protection. The key difference is whether the packaging also needs controlled gas release and pressure management.
How Does a Vent Liner Work?

① Induction Sealing:
The heat-seal layer bonds with the container mouth to create a reliable seal.
② Controlled Gas Release:
The breathable membrane allows gas to escape from the container.
③ Pressure Equalization:
Controlled gas exchange helps reduce excessive internal pressure.
④ Liquid Retention:
The sealing structure helps retain the product inside under normal conditions.
Key Benefits of Induction Vented Liners
Strong Induction Sealing
Securely bonds to the container mouth to provide a strong, reliable seal and help prevent leakage and external contamination.
Breathable &
Liquid-Tight
The breathable membrane allows controlled gas release while preventing liquid penetration, helping maintain a secure seal.
Pressure Equalization
Allows excess gas to escape and helps balance internal pressure, reducing the risk of bottle swelling, cap bulging and container deformation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a vented induction seal liner?
+
-
A vented induction seal liner is a sealing liner with a breathable membrane that allows controlled gas release while maintaining a reliable seal. It helps manage internal pressure in containers holding gas-generating or pressure-sensitive products.
How does a vented liner prevent bottle swelling?
+
-
The breathable ePTFE membrane allows excess gas to escape from the container, helping equalize internal and external pressure. This can reduce the risk of bottle swelling, cap bulging and deformation caused by pressure build-up.
Can a vented liner prevent liquid leakage?
+
-
Yes. The venting membrane is designed to allow gas exchange while resisting liquid penetration. Combined with a properly matched heat-seal layer, it provides reliable liquid sealing under normal storage and transportation conditions.
Will a vented liner allow moisture to enter the container?
+
-
The venting membrane is designed to allow gas release while limiting liquid and moisture penetration. This can help protect powders and other moisture-sensitive contents from dampness. Performance depends on the selected membrane and application.
What products need a vented induction seal liner?
+
-
Vented liners are suitable for products that generate gas or are sensitive to pressure changes, including pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, biostimulants, cleaning chemicals, corrosive chemicals and other pressure-sensitive products.
Can I get samples before placing a bulk order?
+
-
Yes. We can provide samples for sealing, venting and compatibility testing before mass production.
Can you customize the venting performance?
+
-
Yes. Venting performance can be adjusted according to the product's gas-generation characteristics and packaging requirements.
What information do you need to recommend a vented liner?
+
-
Please provide the container material, opening diameter, product type, gas-generation condition and required quantity. We can recommend a suitable liner structure for testing.
